We are having two data sessions and, perhaps, one small presentation.
During prenatal ultrasound exams, healthcare providers only rarely look at pregnant women's faces. I have so far collected 22 fragments in which healthcare providers do possibly look at pregnant women's face during their showing them what goes on the screen or explaining on it. I temporarily classified these fragments into four or five types. I will bring some of them, together with some observations to facilitate discussions on how these phenomena are related to the organization of participation frames in prenatal ultrasound exams.
If anybody is interested in bringing their own data, analyses, observations, arguments, or whatever, to a next meeting to discuss together, please contact Aug Nishizaka at augnish(a)soc.meijigakuin.ac.jp.
